Video- Match between Kano Pillars Vs Enugu Rangers in Agege ends in violence as referee runs for his life

The NPFL Championship Playoff match between Kano Pillars and Rangers International of Enugu which took place at the Agege Township Stadium on Monday evening ended in violence as supporters invaded the pitch.

Kano Pillars were leading 1-0 after midfielder Rabiu Ali curled in a free-kick in the 58th to put his team ahead. But in the 87th, Rangers were awarded a penalty which was scored by striker Godwin Aguda to earn the Enugu-based side a valuable one point.

After the match, Kano Pillars captain Ali confronted the referee, Adebimpe Quadri, and this led to a violent scene as 'Kano Pillars' fans invaded the field with throwing objects and missiles in an attempt to attack the referee who took to his heels.

BREAKING: Passengers escape death as plane crash lands in Ilorin

  Following an incident by an aircraft in the fleet of one of the major airlines in the country, the runway of the Ilorin International Airport has been closed to traffic. Many passengers, including some highly-placed Nigerians, narrowly escaped death. All flights to Ilorin have also been cancelled until evacuation of the plane. The airline began operation from Ilorin Airport on June 16. According to investigation, the aircraft crash landed at about 9.30am on Friday morning in Ilorin from Abuja. The plane landed with a bang, which affected the cabin with luggage falling on passengers. It was gathered with the impact of the crash the plane could not taxi to the tarmac. In the last 24 hours, the runway of the airport had been closed to traffic. But all the traumatised passengers were successfully evacuated from the runway. ASUU Commences Total And Indefinite Nationwide Strike

The Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) has commenced an indefinite strike. According to the chairman of ASUU at Obafemi Awolowo University, Adeola Egbedokun, the strike is total and indefinite until the union’s needs are met. The strike is to protest the poor funding of Nigerian universities and alleged plan by the federal government to increase students fees and introduce an education bank. Led by its National President, Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU declared the strike at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting late on Sunday.
