Five Corpers Kidnapped On The Way Camp. Some gunmen on Wednesday kidnapped five members of the National Youth Service Corps who were travelling to their orientation camps in Akwa Ibom and Rivers states. Two other passengers on the bus conveying the corps members were also kidnapped. The fresh graduates and the other victims were travelling from Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to Rivers and Akwa Ibom states where they were billed to undertake their three-week NYSC orientation. They were kidnapped on the Owerri-Port Harcourt Expressway and taken to the Umuapu forest in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State. Briefing journalists after the victims were rescued by the police, the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Imo State Police Command, Dasuki Galadanchi, said the kidnappers established contact with the families of the corps members and demanded N5m ransom. SIX BURNT TO DEATH IN MULTIPLE ACCIDENT ALONG SAGAMU/BENIN EXPRESSWAY At least six people were reportedly burnt to death on Wednesday in a multiple accident involving a container laden truck and two commercial buses at J4, Ogbere area on the Sagamu-Benin Expressway, as reported by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). The Sagamu/Benin accident was said to have occurred at around 2:15 p.m. at a section of the road where there was a diversion of traffic to a single lane. Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson of the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), who confirmed the accident, said 10 others persons suffered varying degrees of injury. Mother of 2 stabbed to death by mentally unstable boyfriend A mother-of-two was stabbed several times by her mentally unstable boyfriend and left to die in a muddy drain at Crane Street, Queenstown, Corriverton, Berbice, in South America. Iransa Frank, 38, a waitress at the Crimson Light Bar located on the Corentyne, recently moved in with her boyfriend at Crane street after they had been seeing for just over a month. At about 8:00h on Sunday, the now dead woman had headed home from work, but shortly after, she visited a nearby shop. Moments later, the woman was seen running up the street with the suspect in hot pursuit. He eventually caught up with her.
