More than 30 football viewers die in Calabar during ManUtd's game against Anderlecht More than 30 people have died at a football viewing centre in Calabar, Cross River state after high tension electricity cable broke from its mooring and fell on the building. The football fans  assembled at the centre to watch a UEFA Europa League quarter-final match between Manchester United and Anderlecht on satellite television, a game the host won 2-1 (3-2) on aggregate to advance to the semi-final. Man sacrifices 6 year old son for money ritual. Police in Ghana, have arrested a Abdul Salam, a 36 year old farmer who allegedly gruesomely murdered his son for ritual purpose. The suspect, Abdul Salam buried the child in a shallow grave in his farm. This unfortunate incident occurred yesterday,Tuesday. A resident in an interview with Prestea-based Energy FM said the little boy went missing on Monday and a search party led by the Unite Committee was constituted. After a thorough search, they discovered the father of the young boy was complicit. The resident who was part of the manhunt indicated that, after the suspect had accomplished his mission, he dug a shallow grave in his farm and quickly buried his son there. The resident said Abdul was escorted by the police to where he buried his son and was then asked to exhume the corpse. Reverend King to be executed soon!!! AT LAST Chukwuemeka Ezeugo a.k.a. Rev. King is set to be executed alongside other inmates on death row in a Lagos State Prison, on an instruction from the state’s Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode. The state’s attorney general and commissioner for justice, Adeniji Kazeem made this known at a news conference on Tuesday, April 18th. Adeniji said that the state had begun reviewing the matter after prison officials complained of the highhandedness of some death row inmates who felt that they had certain rights which excluded them from being executed. The Attorney-General assured that, unlike previous administrations, Governor Ambode would sign the necessary documents to execute those on death row. Mother of missing Chibok girl weeps at a public lecture yesterday as Nigeria marks 3 years of Chibok girls captivity......... (photos) Yesterday marked the 3rd anniversary of the abduction of 197 school girls from Chibok community. Advocacy group for the missing girls, Bring Back Our Girls BBOG, held a public lecture in Abuja. Mother of one of the missing girls, Sarah Samuel, broke down while appealing to the Federal government to help find her missing daughter.  81 of the girls have since regained freedom while 195 of them are still in captivity.

Secondary school student dies as he fell from mango tree A junior secondary student of Umuerim secondary School, Owerri, Imo state, died after falling from a mango tree. According to Instagram user, Melissa, who shared the story, said the incident happened on April, 03, 2017. The boy climbed the mango tree to pluck unripe mango, he fell the first time and was chased away by his senior. When the seniors left, he went back and continued to pluck and that was when he fell the second time and died. The boy is allegedly the only surviving member of his nuclear family and was living with his uncle before his death.
