Mark Zuckerberg becomes the third-richest in the world.

Facebook Inc. co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has overtaken Warren Buffet as the world’s third-richest person, further solidifying technology as the most robust creator of wealth.

Zuckerberg, who trails only Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos and Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates, eclipsed Buffet Friday as Facebook shares climbed 2.4 percent, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
It’s the first time that the three wealthiest people on the ranking made their fortunes from technology. Zuckerberg, 34, is now worth $81.6 billion, about $373 million more than Buffett, the 87-year-old chairman and chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
Zuckerberg’s ascent has been driven by investors’ continued embrace of Facebook, the social-network giant that shook off the fallout from a data-privacy crisis that hammered its shares, sending them to an eight-month low of $152.22 on March 27. The stock closed Friday at a record $203.23.

ASUU suspends strike, asks lecturers to resume tomorrow

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has officially suspended a strike it commenced three months ago. The union directed university lecturers to resume duty from tomorrow, February 12. The suspension of the strike was announced on Thursday evening after a meeting with between the ASUU leadership and a government delegation led by labour minister, Chris Ngige. The ASUU delegation was led by its president, Abiodun Ogunyemi, who announced the suspension of the strike. At the meeting, a memorandum of action was signed by the two parties. Mr Ngige had earlier said the government had resolved the eight contentious issues that led to the strike. He said some of the items have been implemented. Mr Ngige said the union agreed with the government that N25 billion naira will be released for the revitalization of public universities. NLC suspends planned strike

The Leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC and the Trade Union Congress TUC.have suspended its proposed nationwide strike which was slated for November 6th. The labour unions had planned to embark on an indefinite strike on Tuesday to press home their demands for an upward review of the minimum wage from N18, 000 to N30, 000. Rising from a meeting of the tripartite committee set up by the federal government, NLC president, Ayuba Wabba, told reporters that the decision to suspend the industrial action was taken after agreements were reached and documents signed. “Having reached this position and agreements signed, the proposed strike action is hereby suspended,” he said. Efforts to resolve the disagreement between government and labour initially suffered a set back on Monday as both parties failed to reach consensus on the minimum wage. "They found only a packet of Cigarette with me" Driver tied to a moving police van. The bus driver that was tied to a moving police van in Benin has said that the police officers only found an empty packet of cigarette on him. He even said that the policemen seized his phone and the 3000 naira they found on him and since then, they have not returned it back to him. The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 5, Benin, Mr. Abubakar Mohammed, has ordered the detention of the policemen involved in this degrading action saying that the policemen's conduct is not a representation of the ethics and core values of the Nigeria Police Force. He said  the men's conduct is not fair and violates the principle of democratic policing, adding that the  ZCIID, had commenced investigation into the matter.
