Tanker Falls in Lagos, Explodes With More Than 50cars. Lives lost. #news

Tragedy has struck in Lagos on Thursday
june 28, as a fuel-laden petrol tanker conveying over 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit lost control on the popular Otedola Bridge on Lagos –Ibadan Expressway and exploded, killing scores of victims.

Over 10 other vehicles with their occupants were caught in the fire that is raging with thick smoke.

As at the time of filing this report, the total number of vehicles caught in the huge inferno was yet to be ascertained just as the number occupants in them.

But it was gathered that many of the victims are those travelling outside the state and people returning home after the hectic day work. Efforts went on to contain the raging fire while all the emergency responders are on the ground to manage the huge disaster scene.

Remains of the victims we being extricated from the burnt vehicles while those who sustain severe injuries were being rushed to the nearby hospitals. Nobody could identify any of the possible victims of the ever-busy highway.

Trucks of water were being deployed to the scene of the fire.

Uyo bus garage: Woman slumps at arrival  As reported by a co passenger. She said the woman’s husband brought her to Lagos park alive to board the vehicle going to Uyo.He kneww the woman wasn’t very strong while embarking on the long journey. And had made arrangement with a pastor here in Uyo to pick her and commence prayers. The woman arrived Uyo alive, stepped out of the vehicle, asked for her luggage to be given to her. Child who went missing in Lagos returns after 5 years becoming black

This 12 year old girl identified as Ikimot Awojoju, who reportedly went missing 5 years ago has returned back to her family. Ikimot went missing in Lagos on July 23, 2014, on her way back from school. According to reports, Ikimot was living with her guardian, Ajoke Abass, in the Oyingbo area of Lagos, before she went missing. Her mother, Faidat Awojoju, had passed away in 2011 when Ikimot was just three years old. When she went missing, Ikimot’s guardian said she sold her valuables to raise the money needed to search for her but all efforts to find her proved abortive. Abass told PUNCH Metro that after two years, she stopped searching but kept on praying for the safe return of the girl.
