Meet the cutest fashionista 2017
In this interview with Miss Adetokunbo Oluwaseun, she tells us about the ups and downs in the fashion industry and how despite all odds, she has proven to be successful in the industry.
You are the CEO, Slimcutie fashion, can you please tell us your name again?
I am Adetokunbo Oluwaseun
Please can we know a little more about you?
Hmmmm..I'm from Ondo state, born on February 28.....hmmmm, what else do you want to know. I'm female..(laughs)
So can you please tell us a little bit of your educational background?
Ok.....I attended rock of ages nursery and primary school.... Then to St Helen's Unity secondary school, Ondo state. Then after that, i went on to study Biochemistry at Olabisi Onabanjo University where i graduated in 2012.
You studied biochemistry, so what brought about the idea of fashion?..........or is it because you are beautiful?..(winks)
(smiles) Not really. No,its more like passion...I love looking good and I love seeing people look good.
Fashion is one of the most important things to me because without it everyone would look the same and all wear the same thing... That isn't any fun at all!!! fashion gives everyone a chance to express themselves and show their own styles in a unique way.
How long have you been in this fashion business?
Actually i started in 2009, then i was in 200 level. It was small scale then though, but we thank God for his hand in it so far.
What aspect of fashion are you into?
I sell ladies wear, shoes, sandals and accessories And I also style, you can come into my boutique and just tell me the occasion and I will pick out the right clothes to wear.
Where is Slimcutie fashion located?
It's in Sagamu, Ogun State
So why did you decide not to quit your normal secular job despite the fact that your fashion business is booming?
Combining both is really helping me. I'm not from a rich home so I need all the help I can get to raise more capital cos there is nothing bad in having more than one fashion store
What challenges have you faced so far?
It wasn't easy when I started cos I used to do mobile marketing, from one hostel to another ,company and all. Having a boutique made it easier, but before people around could get to know me,it took a lot of time which was the major challenge but thank God for where I am now, I have been able to sustain it for the past 3years.
What advice do you have for younger ladies coming up?
My advise for younger ladies coming up is for them to work on their passion, everyone has passion for one thing or the other, these days your passion puts food on your table, its not really about the course you read while in school, combining both gives you an edge.
Thanks so much ma for your time
The pleasure is all mine
